No Man’s Sky is this month’s IGN First title. IGN First, for those of you who don’t know, is a month-long feature that makes one upcoming game the website’s primary focus. As such, there’s normally a ton of new information that comes to light.
With this gameplay footage, however, there’s nothing all that new on show. That was on purpose. Hello Games’ Sean Murray is just hanging out with some of the IGN crew, playing through some “pretty average” No Man’s Sky gameplay. That’s not to say it’s boring; it’s great! As Murray explains: “We’re here just on a totally normal planet. We’re not trying to show you anything in particular; this is pretty average No Man’s Sky action. It’s not like there are some crazy features that I want to show you or anything like that. I guess that’s what we’ve been trying to show at E3: just giving people a flavour of, like, this is the game as it is.”
So we guess you can take this gameplay as a snapshot of what to expect on your average run through the galaxy as you explore one of the 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets that exist inside Hello Games’ procedurally generated, science fiction toy box. Check it out after the jump!
